Todd Boehly, Clearlake Capital chart future vision for Chelsea FC
The new era has officially begun, with the “Consortium led by Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital” completing their acquisition of Chelsea Football Club today.
The consortium fought off 11 serious rivals to become the new owners, in a sale process that started on 2 March and comprised more than 250 enquiries.
Deal brings an end to Roman Abramovich's 19-year ownership of Chelsea voetbalshirts , in which the club won 21 trophies including five Premier League titles and two Champions Leagues; Todd Boehly-led consortium have committed £4.25bn to purchase the club - a record for a sports team

Chelsea finished the Premier League season in third place, qualifying for next season’s Champions League. They were beaten by Liverpool goedkope voetbal in the finals of the FA Cup and Carabao Cup.
With the sale of the club, Chelsea will be able to operate normally again. This means that the club will reopen its store, be able to buy and sell players or extend their contract as well as sell match tickets.
It remains to be seen as to who Chelsea will bring in during the summer window, with Jules Kounde heavily linked whilst Ousmane Dembele, Kalidou Koulibaly and Josko Gvardiol have also been rumoured purchases under the new era at the club.
